‘Creating public value’ means providing citizens real value for the taxes they pay.
For the Harvard Kennedy School of Governance, commissioned by Public Cinema, I researched, wrote, produced and directed two films to explain the purpose and core concepts of public value theory, as developed by Professor of Public Management Mark H. Moore.

From cranky crow to beautiful bird of paradise
For educational institution Apprenance in France, I wrote and directed a film that explains the core goals of their work: helping teachers to better help students that need something different than most for their true potential to flourish.

The film won the ‘best commissioned short’ award of the Dutch Animation Festival Kaboom in 2019 by popular vote from the audience.

Exploring the future through making impossible choices
For the Dutch Research Council, commissioned by Public Cinema, I directed a total of 90 minutes of animated material for an interactive cinematic story experience spanning many decades into the future.
The project, titled ‘Robin’, revolves around dilemma’s that spring out of science. Viewers make four choices that lead them towards one of sixteen alternative futures.
